Thankful for....

As I start my day today (Thanksgiving) I stop and think about all the things I am thankful for. I am and have been thankful for so much over all the years,this is not an inclusive list...

I am thankful for

God...who watches over me and guides me

My mom and dad who may not be on this earth right now but who still watch over me.

Bob...who is always there

Becky and Vicki..who are the joys of my life

Marcia and Joyce..my sisters, who care

My cousin Sandy...for her thoughtful words and actions and someone I can always turn to

the fact that I woke up this morning to another beautiful day!

My cousin Bren for always having a smile on her face.

My cousin Kathy for her positive attitude and cute laugh.

Andy....who I miss

Eric...who makes Becky happy

I am so grateful and blessed for the two daughters I have who have brought me more joy in my life than I would of ever imagined.
I love you guys so much!

I am grateful and thankful for the night, when I can rest my body and get it ready for another day. I am grateful that He watches over me during the night allowing me to sleep safely and then wake in the morning.

Today, Sparky Anderson died, he was 76 years old. I am grateful for all the years he gave of his time and talents to the world of baseball. I remember him when I was small, hearing his voice come from the tv and/or the radio as my dad watched/listened to the Detroit Tigers play . We will miss you Sparky. May you rest in peace. Thank you for all you did.

I definitely am grateful for the right to vote.
It only takes one vote to make a difference and that one vote may be mine.

Wow! Am I ever grateful for Bob who....
-gives me direction, even when I don't want it:)
-puts our family #1 on his priority list.
-tells me his work problems as though I understand them:)
-who sends me quotes that he finds on an iPhone app
-listens to me complain
-gives of his time to make this the best life ever for us!!

This is a bit of a different kind of gratefulness that I'm writing today.
Today I was able to help a friend with a situation that she needed confirmation on. Denise needed something confirmed from work and Kenny called to ask if I could help her. I am grateful that they took me seriously when I told them if there is anything I could do to help them through this difficult time of J's passing just to let me know. Today I am grateful for the fact that they called me to ask for help and grateful that I could help them.

Today while driving to the gym in the morning, I saw the most beautiful orangish, yellow full moon!!!!! It gave light ( well not much, but a little) and had the most beautiful glow ever as it 'moved with me' on my way.

Today as I start this day I find myself grateful for the ability to make choices in my life. Whether it be in what I eat, or when I exercise, whom I choose to be friends with or whatever, the choice is mine. Today the one main choice I'm making is to be with a friend who needs support and to ask God to help her and her family during this most difficult time.

In rememberance of my sisters husband Tom. Thank you for being there for Marcia and giving her a happy life for so many years.
We miss you.

Today I am grateful for short periods of silence.
Its a time when I can reflect, think and sort things out in my mind. Also, a time to relax.:)

For raincoats that keep us dry when it rains (and it's pouring right now).

Happy October 1

Today I wake up to my computer that is working again so I am so thankful for my husbands knowledge in that field as he is the one who always gets me out of 'trouble' when that happens. Thanks Bob, I love you !!!

Also, as we turn the calendar page and see the month of October I think of the season of Fall and all that it brings. The one thing I love about Fall are the colors around us in the leaves on the trees and the bushes. It just makes the world a beautiful place to be!

Today I thought about what am I thankful for and a few different things came to mind.
I'm thankful for friends. I had a really great evening tonight with some old friends and co-workers who are happy for me because I'm doing what I want to do now that I'm retired. They brought me some really nice mums that I'll have to look at on our patio and think of them. Thank you Cheryl and Sue!

I'm thankful for a good report for my friend Denise from her doctor.

I'm grateful for watermelon, blueberries, grapes, cantaloupe and all the good juicy fruits of the season (which will soon be gone)

I'm about a week behind, so let me catch up....
Thursday, Sept 24- I'm thankful for the blades of grass that tickle my toes when I walk barefoot in it
Friday, Sept 25- I'm thankful for my family who loves me for who I am and helps me to grow stronger daily!
Saturday,Sept. 26-I'm thankful for slot machines:)
Sunday-I'm thankful for airplanes with space for your legs in between rows and for stewardesses who do their job:)
Monday-I'm thankful for the telephone so I can keep in touch with my girls who live far away.
Tuesday-I'm thankful for time alone-to do what I want, when I want to do it.
and now that I'm caught up, a new posting awaits.

Today is day one of my Gratefulness Journal. It's a journal of just that, what I am grateful for as there are so many things.
I got the idea from my cousin Sandy, so I find it just fitting to say I am thankful for her not only for sharing her idea but for being the great friend and cousin that she is! Thank You Sandy:)
